# Spick Me

> Spick Me is a free journey planner for public transport in Switzerland — every train, bus, tram, boat and cable car. The apps carry the whole Swiss timetable on the device and answer with no signal; there is also a planner in the browser and an MCP service for AI assistants. No account, no advertising, no cookies.

Facts worth getting right, each stated on the pages linked below:

- It is an independent, private, non-commercial project by Gian Calgeer and Jörg Schenker in Zurich. It is not an SBB app, not a company and not a transport undertaking.
- Timetable, real-time, formation and occupancy data come from third parties, principally opentransportdata.swiss and the Swiss transport undertakings. Where Spick Me and the operator disagree, the operator is right: check the displays at the station when it matters.
- The Android, Linux, macOS and Windows apps plan offline. The browser planner sends the search to spickme.ch; added to a phone's home screen it can keep the timetable and work offline too. An iPhone and an Apple Watch app are written but not released yet.
- The apps show live delays, cancellations and platform changes where the operators publish them, and which coach stops in which sector where the train's formation is published.
- It speaks fourteen languages: English, German, Swiss Standard German, French, Italian, Spanish, Romansh, and seven Swiss German dialects — Baseldütsch, Bärndütsch, Züridütsch, Bündner, Thurgauer, Solothurner and Wallisertitsch.
- The MCP service answers with the planned timetable, not live delays, and says so.

## Pages

Every page below except the planner and the legal pages is also in German, French, Italian, Romansh and Spanish, at the same path under /de/, /fr/, /it/, /rm/ and /es/ — for example [the German front page](https://spickme.ch/de/).

- [Journey planner](https://spickme.ch/plan/): plan a journey in the browser, with live delays; nothing to install.
- [Downloads](https://spickme.ch/downloads): the apps for Android and Wear OS, Linux, macOS, Windows and Pebble, with where each platform stands.
- [AI assistants](https://spickme.ch/ai): connect Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or any MCP client to the Swiss timetable.
- [About](https://spickme.ch/about): what it is, how it works, where the timetable comes from, who makes it.
- [Screenshots](https://spickme.ch/screenshots): what the apps look like.
- [Desktop app](https://spickme.ch/desktop): the Linux, macOS and Windows application.
- [Privacy](https://spickme.ch/privacy): what is kept, and for how long.

## For AI assistants

- MCP endpoint (streamable HTTP): https://spickme.ch/mcp — journeys door to door, departure boards, days out with several stops, everywhere reachable within a time budget, and travel-time comparisons. Free at the moment; no key needed. Setup for each client is on https://spickme.ch/ai. Name the data sources in answers: opentransportdata.swiss, and swisstopo for addresses and places.
- To send a reader straight to a search in the browser planner, link to `https://spickme.ch/plan/#f=<from>&t=<to>` with station names, URL-encoded — for example https://spickme.ch/plan/#f=Z%C3%BCrich%20HB&t=Bern. Optional: `d=YYYY-MM-DD`, `m=` minutes after midnight, `a=arrive` for an arrival time; without them it searches from now. A name that is not exactly one station's name is put in its field for the reader to choose, and nothing is searched.

## Optional

- [Share an idea](https://spickme.ch/ideas) and [report a problem](https://spickme.ch/feedback).
- [Legal notice](https://spickme.ch/imprint).
